A selection of vintage solid wood bobbin reels, originally made for use in a Scottish wool mill. Made in England.
No two bobbin reels are exactly alike, and range from larger wooden reels with painted ends to smaller reels with metal around each end. The larger bobbin reels are made of beech, the ends were originally painted in different colours, but which have worn beautifully over the subsequent years. The smaller reels are ebonised wood: the larger of this kind have one end circled with brass and the other copper, the smaller having copper on both ends. The bobbin reels are stamped to show maker and that theyre made in England.

Bobbin reels are vintage and beautifully show the patina of their age, making them really interesting objects, with a fantastic texture.
